LUMBERTON SIDEPATH FEASIBILITY STUDY

Welcome! We're glad you're here!
Why this project?
This project will analyze the proposed "Lumberton Loop" trail. We are performing a "feasibility study", which means we are reviewing potential constraints, like utilities, or right-of-way, to find the most effective way of avoiding or minimizing impact. We will answer questions like: What side of the road should the trail be on? How/Where should the trail cross the road?
The Lumberton Loop Trail was proposed in our recent Community Floodprint. This study will examine only a portion of the whole Lumberton Loop: the approximately 2.5 miles from Roberts Avenue (NC 211) to the Lumber River Levee Trail.
This project isn't taking place in isolation. During this project, we are coordinating with the Downtown Lumberton Master Plan, a separate project seeking to improve buildings, streetscapes, public events, and tourism opportunities in Downtown Lumberton. We are also collaborating with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Integrated Mobility Division, who will support our project team.
We will be building on our previous plans throughout this entire project. We want to create connections and make our streets safer for everyone - and we need your help to do so.
